  • The LLB Law with Foundation Year program is designed for students who need additional preparation before starting a full degree program. This pathway is available at universities in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, and online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all students.
  • The foundation year focuses on building essential academic and professional skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and research methods. It also introduces students to key concepts in law, including legal systems, contract law, and criminal law. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the three-year LLB Law (Hons) program, where they can explore topics such as Human Rights Law, Land Law, and Equity and Trusts.
  • Foundation Year: Introduction to Law, Academic Skills Development, Research Methods, Basic Sociology, and Communication Skills.
  • Year 1: Contract Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Legal Skills.
  • Year 2: Tort Law, European Union Law, Legal Research Methods, and Human Rights Law.
  • Year 3: Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Comparative Law, and a Capstone Project or Dissertation.

Graduates of the LLB Law with Foundation Year program are well-prepared for roles such as:

  • Solicitor (with further training)

  • Maintenance Support – Helps with living expenses such as rent, food, and travel while you study.
  • Non-Repayable Grants – Depending on your circumstances, you may also qualify for additional financial support.

Education Route:

You can qualify if you have:

✅ A Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points) OR

✅ Five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) OR

✅ No formal education? No problem! We offer opportunities for you to start your learning journey.

Experience Route:

If you don’t meet the academic criteria, you may still qualify with:

✅ 6 months to 1 year of work experience within the last 12 months.
