  • The Health, Wellbeing and Social Care (Hons) with Foundation Year program is designed for students who need additional preparation before starting a full degree program. This pathway is available at universities in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, and online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all students.
  • The foundation year focuses on building essential academic and professional skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. It also introduces students to key concepts in health, wellbeing, and social care, including public health, social policy, and care delivery. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the three-year Health, Wellbeing and Social Care (Hons) program, where they can specialize in areas such as Mental Health, Social Policy, or Community Care.
  • Foundation Year: Introduction to Health and Social Care, Academic Skills Development, Principles of Public Health, Basic Sociology, and Communication in Care Settings.
  • Year 1: Health and Wellbeing, Social Policy and Welfare, Safeguarding in Health and Social Care, and Introduction to Mental Health.
  • Year 2: Community Care, Public Health Strategies, Research Methods in Health and Social Care, and Leadership in Care Settings.
  • Year 3: Advanced Health and Wellbeing, Global Health Issues, Social Care Policy and Practice, and a Capstone Project or Dissertation.

Education Route:

You can qualify if you have:

✅ A Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points) OR

✅ Five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) OR

✅ No formal education? No problem! We offer opportunities for you to start your learning journey.

Experience Route:

If you don’t meet the academic criteria, you may still qualify with:

✅ 6 months to 1 year of work experience within the last 12 months.
