The Health and Care Management (Hons) with Foundation Year program is designed for students who need additional preparation before starting a full degree program. This pathway is available at universities in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, and online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all students.
The foundation year focuses on building essential academic and professional skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. It also introduces students to key concepts in healthcare management, including healthcare systems, ethics, and patient care. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the three-year Health and Care Management (Hons) program, where they can specialize in areas such as Healthcare Leadership, Health Policy, or Quality and Safety in Healthcare.

Foundation Year: Introduction to Healthcare Systems, Academic Skills Development, Principles of Management, Basic Economics, and Communication in Healthcare.
Year 1: Healthcare Operations Management, Financial Management in Healthcare, Health Policy and Ethics, and Leadership in Health and Care.
Year 2: Quality and Safety in Healthcare, Global Health Issues, Innovation in Healthcare, and Patient-Centered Care.
Year 3: Strategic Management in Healthcare, Advanced Leadership, Research Methods in Healthcare, and a Capstone Project or Dissertation.

Education Route:
You can qualify if you have:
✅ A Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points) OR
✅ Five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) OR
✅ No formal education? No problem! We offer opportunities for you to start your learning journey.
Experience Route:
If you don’t meet the academic criteria, you may still qualify with:
✅ 6 months to 1 year of work experience within the last 12 months.
