The foundation year modules provide a supportive introduction to university study, helping students build the academic skills and subject-specific knowledge necessary for success in higher education. This initial year lays the groundwork for future learning and professional development.

The course includes carefully designed modules that develop career-focused skills in professional counselling. In the final year, students have the opportunity to choose a counselling practice area for a research project, fostering independent learning and practical application. By the time students graduate, they are well-equipped to apply psychological and counselling knowledge to diverse career paths and further academic opportunities.

Eligibility​
  • A minimum of three GCSEs or 45 credits at Level 2 or equivalent. If qualifications are over three years old, a professional CV may also be required.

  • Applicants without the standard qualifications may be considered based on at least 12 months of relevant professional work experience, supported by a CV and reference.

English Language Requirements

  • An IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any component) or TOEFL iBT 80, or an equivalent qualification is required.

  • Alternatively, evidence of previous study in English, such as a letter confirming English as the Medium of Instruction, may be accepted.
